The commandment “don’t chase Singed” is probably as old as League itself. And unfortunately, our boy is looking his age.

Luckily, we have the in-game equivalent of Botox and facelifts – cosmetics. And we’re going to try to determine which skin will give you the best bang for your buck.

Based on price point, overall design, and my snarky opinion, this is my ranking of all Singed’s skins.

10. SSW Singed

Released: May 13th, 2015
Price: 750 RP

Singed is simply one of those champions where the character model has to match his abilities – or else it’ll look extremely stupid.

That’s kind of what happened with this skin. The character model has you being some random SSW fanboy with a trophy on your back. And a logo shield – for some reason.

That itself is fine (I even like that they give him a little canned drink in his off hand) but the second you turn your Q on, it all goes downhill.

Seeing the base green particles coming out of your trophy just makes it look like a bong. I’m sure that’d make the skin better for some – but it just looks like a mistake to me.

And since the skin has no new effects, chromas, or even a decent splash art, these types of mistakes are very damning.

9. Hextech Singed

Released: August 14th, 2010
Price: 520 RP

Nowadays Hextech skins represent some of the rarest (and most expensive) cosmetics in the game. But back in the old days, they were honestly just terrible.

This is exhibit A. First off, just look at that splash art. If that doesn’t scream “I was created over a decade ago”, I don’t know what does.

And while the in-game model isn’t nearly as disgusting, it’s also not great.

It’s like the original design but with the context that Singed had a lesser budget. Your shield is made out of wood, your outfit looks stitched together, and the container on your back looks like a true safety hazard.

Overall, the skin is cheap and might’ve been worth putting on occasionally, but the splash art just completely ruins the experience.

8. Mad Scientist Singed

Released: September 26th, 2011
Price: 750 RP

Singed is already a mad scientist by nature, so this skin was playing it extremely safe.

In terms of particles and animations, it all fits in rather well. After all, you’re a doctor who’s running around with chemicals strapped to your back.

The color scheme is a bit weaker than in the original, but it still makes sense overall. And even your shield being like a vault door is overall acceptable.

All of that being said, I can’t fully get behind the new character model. This is mostly due to the fact that you seem way slimmer than in the original design.

Usually, that wouldn’t be an issue, but when you’re chucking mountain-sized champions above your head, it looks a bit goofy.

Overall, I know that there are OTPs out there who love this skin – the classic “I might have an old skin but I’ll wipe the floor with you” gang – but I’m just not one of them.

7. Surfer Singed

Released: December 6th, 2010
Price: 975 RP

I want to move on to Surfer Singed next, as it has a very similar OTP fanbase as the last pick. In fact, I’d say it’s THE OTP skin.

This is mostly due to the fact that Singed has never looked more carefree than he does in this skin. So, from the beginning, you’re doing some mental warfare on that front.

But I have to be real here – the skin itself isn’t all that good. If the poison trail was a wavy blue, then I’d see the appeal. But the base particles simply don’t work with this character model.

Sure, you throw a coconut for your W, but that doesn’t do enough to make this a well-rounded skin. And the ult just looks awful when you’re just some surfer boy!

Overall, the skin is good to have in order to mentally torment your enemies. But as a standalone product, it’s pretty bad.

6. Riot Squad Singed

Released: June 25th, 2010
Price: 975 RP Code Redemption

Thematically, this skin just made sense for Singed.

With both shields and teargas being standard equipment for police officers, Singed fit right in.

And I have to say that it came out pretty great. Your new Q trail looks a lot better than the original and the character model aged rather nicely.

The only real beef that I have with the skin is the ult. For whatever reason, it still has the original green particles.

So, when you go into a teamfight with your ult, you just have greens mixed in with the orange gas and it looks like a mess. Especially since thematically it also doesn’t fit in at all – unless police officers start vomiting profusely when charging in.

The W is also somewhat weird for the skin, but I don’t mind it nearly as much.

And of course, it’s good to keep in mind that this skin is not easy to get. So, while you do get some extreme bragging rights, actually getting your hands on this skin is an uphill battle.

5. Black Scourge Singed

Released: May 4th, 2016
Price: 750 RP

Just on theme alone, this skin was bound to be good. You could literally take any champion, put them in a plague doctor getup, and the people would love it.

And Singed just fit in perfectly. Which is very convenient, as even his base animations and particles made perfect sense with the skin. Even the ult could be waved away since plague doctors had all kinds of herbs in their masks.

But let’s talk more about the character model – as it honestly had no business going as hard as it did. The shield design is simply immaculate, and I have no idea how it made its way onto a 750 RP skin.

The coffin on your back is also quite brilliant, as it just ties the entire aesthetic together quite nicely. Plus, you can kind of think of the Q trail as just being the stench of the dead – which is equal part brilliant and disgusting.

Overall, I’d say this skin is a certified banger.

The only reason it’s not higher up on the list is that it gets outshined by skins with fancy new particles. But if you like to keep it simple, this could be the skin for you.

4. Augmented Singed

Released: July 9th, 2012
Price: 975 RP

This skin just feels like the secret Singe visual update. It basically takes everything we loved about the base design and cranks it up slightly.

I mean, who didn’t see Singed and immediately think “oh, so like Bane?”. Well, this skin is even more on the nose than the original design – which is what makes it somewhat brilliant.

For one, it has the exact opposite approach to physique than Mad Scientist. That’s to say you look absolutely yolked. Now, this is a Singed that can believably toss a Malphite over his head!

And since the theme is so similar to the base design, all of the particles and animations fit right in! Add to that a pretty nice splash art and a fair-ish price tag, and you get quite the deal!

Overall, this is probably the best skin if you just really liked the original Singed but wanted him to look slightly more modern and like he has a supplement line on the side.

3. Snow Day Singed

Released: December 19th, 2013
Price: 975 RP

If you want a really good skin with new particles and a completely new vibe but don’t feel like paying that premium price – this is the skin for you.

First, let’s just all recognize that having your Q trail be a snowy mist is brilliant. Not only does it give you a slight edge for ARAMs, but it also fits right in with Rylai’s (which you’ll always get).

Your W snowball is also just incredibly satisfying and your ult switched out the green particles for more snowy goodness (thank god).

The character model is also simply brilliant. With a snow machine on your back and a sled in your hand, you’re ready to conquer this winter!

I also just really love his new fuzzy hat – it just brings me great joy.

Overall, this skin is amazing and very cheap – so it’s your best bet if you don’t want to cross over into 1350 RP skins.

2. Beekeeper Singed

Released: October 11th, 2017
Price: 1350 RP

This skin honestly had no business being as good as it is. Although I am sad that the name wasn’t some sort of pun, I think it’s one of the best skins to come out of the entire line.

Your Q trail being a horde of buzzing bees is really fun. And hearing them buzz around as you run through the enemy team is even more fun.

Not to mention that you even get little bee wings whenever your passive movement speed buff is activated! For a second it seems random but then you recall and get a literal plot twist animation.

I guess Singed always had a love for jazz.

Your W and R are obviously honey-based – which also makes a decent amount of sense. Honey is sticky and sugar highs are definitely powerful.

The character model isn’t too flashy, but it does what it needs to do and perfectly fits in with the theme of the skin.

So, yeah, I literally have nothing but praise for this skin.

And if you like goofy Singed skins and don’t care much about the price, I’d say this is your best option.

1. Resistance Singed

Released: November 12th, 2020
Price: 1350 RP

While Beekeeper is the best goofy option out there, this is the best serious option.

Even by just looking at that splash art you can tell – this Singed means business.

And I’m happy to say that the in-game model lives up to the hype. The character model looks incredibly threatening, with many cybernetic parts enhancing your body.

And the new particles are just badass. Your Q looks like a proper poisonous gas (and not cartoon fart spray like before). Your W is an actual bomb (and not throw up).

Even your ult feels like an actual buff and not a case of rabies. No matter how you spin it, this skin makes every ability feel more impactful.

You also get a cool new backing animation that really sets the tone for you being a crazy psychopath. And if all of that wasn’t enough, this is also the only Singed skin to actually have chroma options!

So if you’re looking for a more serious take on your favorite mad chemist, I’d say that Resistance Singed is your best bet.
