Then you’ve come to the right place.
The Headhunter skin line takes direct inspiration from this franchise, transforming champions into otherworldly alien entities and badass, sci-fi hunters.
Some of these skins even have nifty references to the hit movies; Rengar’s ult plays the unforgettable Predator sound effect.
But which Headhunter skin is the best?
Well let’s find out. Below we’ve ranked them based on character model design, animations, sound effects, and how well they honor the franchise.
5. Headhunter Master Yi
Released: February 8th, 2012
Price: 975 RP
Headhunter Master Yi hasn’t exactly stood the test of time.
It feels extremely clunky, the splash art looks ancient, and the character model doesn’t fit the Alien Vs Predator thematic whatsoever.
The skin essentially turns Master Yi into a medieval knight.
So yeah, it doesn’t exactly bring to mind dystopian sci-fi battles and chestbursting suspense.
But hey, if you’re into dragon slaying?
This skin will be right up your alley.
Plus, despite its ancient look, the splash art does give Master Yi an edgy, badass vibe, which is a nice change from his usual “zen” persona.
4. Headhunter Nidalee
Released: March 20th, 2013
Price: 975 RP
Headhunter Nidalee is a classic skin that still holds up well today.
Sure, you don’t get anything too flashy. But its simple well-polished design is exactly what makes it so great.
The character model is jampacked with sci-fi goodness and franchise references, with your cougar form even transforming you into a monstrous, alien entity.
Plus, the color scheme is superb; it complements the skin’s sci-fi qualities while still showing off Nidalee’s more “wild” side, with nature-inspired hues like green and brown.
And despite the 975 RP price tag, you even get some unique animations and particle effects.
Sadly, the new Q animation, although badass, isn’t ideal for ranked play — it’s a lot easier for your enemies to dodge a bright red spear than something that blends in with the Rift.
3. Headhunter Caitlyn
Released: September 3rd, 2014
Price: 975 RP
Headhunter Caitlyn is one of the best value skins out there.
The character model is absolutely stunning, with Caitlyn fitted in badass, futuristic armor and an alienesque headpiece.
Her rifle has also received a lethal makeover; it’s now jet black and powered by otherworldly energy.
And despite the skin having a dystopian, sci-fi vibe, Riot has managed to maintain Caitlyn’s sheriff-like qualities — a downright impressive feat.
Even if the character model hasn’t won you over, the skin still has plenty to offer;
the particle effects are slick, your weapon has unique transformations, and the ultimate is a total feast for the eyes.
Now, the recall doesn’t have much oomph to it. But it does further immerse you in the dystopian theme, and at 975 RP, I’m not complaining too much.
2. Headhunter Rengar
Released: August 21st, 2012
Price: 975 RP
Headhunter Rengar doesn’t have an insanely creative, flashy character model. Nor does it pack brand new swanky particle effects or a captivating recall.
And yet, there’s a reason why I’ve put it at the #2 spot: it somehow manages to make Rengar look even more lethal and horrifying.
The serrated blades, skull shoulder piece, glowing eyes, sadistic expression — every element of this skin helps elevate his badass look.
The iconic predator sound effect even plays whenever you ult.
Honestly, once you play with this skin?
Rengar’s base model feels like “Pretty Kitty.”
1. Headhunter Akali
Released: March 23rd, 2015
Price: 1350 RP
Headhunter Akali is the most expensive skin in this line, but it’s definitely worth the extra buck.
Its character model is insanely well-polished and nails the Alien Vs Predator thematic.
She truly looks like she came straight out of the movie franchise, with steel armor, blood red blades, skulls, dreads, and a whole lot of dystopian, sci-fi energy.
The feel of this skin is equally amazing — you get to slice through your enemies’ health bars with killer animations, electrifying particle effects, and predator-inspired sounds.
Nothing feels clunky and each ability is distinct yet subtle enough to prevent your enemy from guessing your next attack.
Plus, the recall truly shows off Akali’s mastery over the blade.
To top it off?
The splash art is downright deadly.
