They make our little rock in space a place to be proud of, even if we’re constantly killing each other or arguing over nonsense. Some of the most beautiful places on Earth have been portrayed in Civ 6, but it’s safe to say that there are many that seem to be missing.
Fear not, my friends: I have once again spent a sizeable amount of time trying to find some really cool mods to keep the fun going strong.
I do appreciate the fact that one guy managed to create 5 different natural wonder mods. I’ve made sure to add all of them here, but I’d also like to give some credit to the guy that made it possible for this to be a list. His account name is Sukritact on Steam – pay him a visit!
Oh, and one more thing before we begin: I’ve also managed to include a couple of mods that don’t add natural wonders directly to the game, but they do make the natural wonders much more useful. Check those out as well, as they’ll give your game a new-found depth that I’m sure you’ll love as much as I did.
7. More Natural Beauty
So here’s a mod that adds many more Natural Wonders to all Civ games.
It doesn’t matter which type of map size you’re going for – Earth deserves to be more beautiful, and this proves it.
With this mod, though, you’ll get many more natural wonders every game. Which will allow you to earn more culture and economic points, as well as having a much more complete map.
The purpose of this mod is to increase the number of natural wonders that spawn in each map size, encouraging smarter gameplay and making you think twice about where you’re going to throw your late-game nukes and atom bombs.
6. Sukritact’s Ngorongoro Crater
The Ngorongoro Crater is one Africa’s most stunning natural sights – and that’s saying a lot when we’re talking about one of the most naturally rich continents on Earth.
However, the Ngorongoro Crater is something else… and truly something you don’t get to see every day.
To show just how unique this is, modder Sukritact decided to turn it into one of the natural wonders of Civilization 6. And boy has he done a great job at it.
This mod truly feels like a natural wonder that came with the game itself. An unofficial expansion, if you will.
In any case, this massive wonder provides you with extra food and science in all adjacent tiles next to it.
5. Sukritact’s Grand Canyon
Man, the Grand Canyon seems like such a fantastic view. And one of the most recognizable wonders in the world.
I don’t know how it wasn’t added to the game, but one thing’s for sure: our good friend Sukritact certainly thought it was going to look good to have the Grand Canyon in his next Civ 6 session.
Much like the rest of the mods this guy created, his Grand Canyon wonder has an astonishing level of detail.
The stats you’ll get from this Grand Canyon aren’t anything too crazy, either. So you know you won’t be breaking your game with this mod.
4. Sukritact’s Great Blue Hole
The Great Blue Hole, located in real-life near the coast of Belize, is a massive sinkhole that has gone on to become one of the ocean’s most stunning natural wonders.
I think this creator deserves a lot of credit for the fantastic piece of art he managed to create here, with a level of detail second to none.
In fact, I’d say that this is the one mod that stands out on my list for the simple fact that it’s far more elaborate than others.
The level of detail of the map’s artwork is also something else. It’s a great mod overall, and the wonder itself yields a ton of bonuses to anyone building next to it. It also gives 1 culture to all fishing boats that lay in its adjacency – regardless of who owns them.
3. Sukritact’s Tonle Sap
Real-life Tonle Sap might be located in the Cambodian plains. But having it spawn anywhere on your Civ 6 save has to be one of the most satisfying things in the game.
It looks so good, man.
I love the way this mod turned out. It gives you fresh water as well as food and production, and serves as a passable tile. And in all honesty, it makes your map look better than anything.
As is the case with all other mods by Sukritact, this one is completely on point with the map drawing as well as the design of the wonder in the game world itself.
2. Sukritact’s Fuji
It’s outrageous that Mount Fuji isn’t one of the vanilla wonders you can get in Civ 6.
I mean, it’s one of the most influential natural beauties in the world – arguably more than many of the ones you see in the game!
One would think that such an outstanding sight would’ve made its way into vanilla somehow. But hey, at least we have one of the best CIV modders to lend us a hand.
1. Terra Mirabilis
So here’s the big boy.
This mod adds 20 new natural wonders designed perfectly for Civ 6.
Do I even have to say it? This is by far the best custom wonders mod by a landslide.
Examples of custom wonders include Old Faithful, The Rock of Gibraltar, Mt. Sinai, Bioluminescent Bay, and a whole lot more. Check out the full list of new wonders on the mod page (and see how many you recognize)
It also reworks many of the ones that come with the base game, so if you want some customized wonders this is absolutely the mod to go with.
