Step 4: Tricks and Stones
After completing the quest “Laying the First Brick”, you can accept “Tricks and Stones” from the Seething Stonemason in the Churning Mists (X:27.2, Y:34.5).
“Tricks and Stones” can be started by a Disciple of the Hand of at least level 50 and is the final quest needed to unlock the moogle dailies.
Upon speaking with the stonemason, you’ll find that he was sent to Moghome by the Temple Knights to help teach the moogles stonemasonry. But with the moogles only assigning him tedious chores and pointless tasks, he asks that you inform Mogkul of his resignation.
Mogkul can be found in the Churning Mists (X:29.5, Y:35.1).
Disheartened by the news, Mogkul will request that you accompany him to Ser Handeloup in the Foundation (X:13.7, Y:11.1). As Mogkul issues his apology for the behavior of his fellow moogles, an old man appears and introduces himself as Lord Tarresson.
Tarresson will explain that the previous stonemasons sent to Moghome were all his apprentices and that since his honor is on the line, he will help the moogles rebuild Zenith himself.
However, he asks for your aid due to his old age.
After agreeing to help the old man, you’re instructed to meet him at the Jeweled Crozier.
Use the aethernet to get to there and you can find Tarreson at (X:6.2, Y:9.4).
Here, you will be asked to craft a Fake Kupo Nut as part of a plan to trick the Mogmenders into putting in actual work towards rebuilding Zenith. This is a special kind of item as it is only crafted and used for this particular quest.
Tarresson will provide the materials for the Fake Kupo Nut. Should you fail or lose your materials for any reason, speak with Tarresson again to obtain more.
Once you’ve successfully crafted a Fake Kupo Nut, travel to the Churning Mists to meet up with Tarresson again. He can be found in an area called Bahrr Lehs which is in the Churning Mists (X:15.2, Y:28.7).
After arriving at Tarresson’s location in Bahrr Lehs, the two of you set out to look for Mogzin, leader of the Mogmenders.
Travel to Zenith and you’ll find Master Mogzin next to the aetheryte at (X:10.1, Y:29.0).
When you are done speaking with Mogzin, return to Tarresson’s previous spot in Bahrr Lehs in the Churning Mists (X:15.2, Y:28.7). Speak with the elderly stonemason once more for a cutscene.
After the cutscene ends, speak with Mogzin to complete the quest – and now you can begin your Moogle Daily Quests.
Moogle Daily Quest Rewards
Like other tribal quests in FFXIV, the moogle quests will give you access to a unique NPC that will trade wares with you for either gil or carved kupo nuts.
Those kupo nuts are the currency you earn from doing dailies with the moogles.
Mogmul Mogbelly is the name of this vendor and he can be found at (X:15.9, Y:28.5) of the Churning Mists. Mogmul’s inventory will grow as your reputation with the moogles increases.
You can purchase several different items like crafting materials, equipment, and minions from Mogmul Mogbelly. This includes the Adept gear set for crafters and the Ohl Deeh minion.
